Description

THE STORY

Every year, Krishnanagar tells it again. Legend says Raja Krishnachandra was kept far from home one Durga Puja, and by the time he sailed back, the immersion drums had already fallen silent. The festival was over. He had missed it.

That night, the legend goes, the Mother came to him in a dream. Not as Durga, but as Jagaddhatri, and she asked him to bring her home again in Kartik. The Jagaddhatri Puja of Krishnanagar Rajbari is remembered as the answer to that night.

A festival missed, and a Mother who came back. It is a story most people have never heard. That is exactly why this panjabi gets noticed.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the story behind this panjabi?
It is a Krishnanagar legend. Raja Krishnachandra is said to have missed his Durga Puja while kept away from home. The Mother then came to him in a dream, and the Jagaddhatri Puja of Kartik followed. Accounts of the details differ, so we tell it as a legend.
Is the print hand-painted or embroidered?
Neither. It is a high-definition print of an original artwork, reproduced on pure cotton.
Is the ink safe for my skin?
The print uses OEKO-TEX certified Eco Passport ink, which is gentle on your skin.
What's the fit like?
Tailored classic fit with a band (mandarin) collar. True to size. Check our size chart if you're between sizes.
What should I wear it with?
White cotton pyjamas for everyday festive wear, or a dhuti for the full traditional look.
How do I wash and iron it?
Machine or hand wash cold, inside out. Do not bleach or wring. Dry flat in shade. Iron inside out on medium heat, never directly on the print.
Can I return or exchange it?
Returns and exchanges are accepted within 3 days of delivery, if the panjabi is unworn and unwashed with tags intact.
