The City That Becomes the Goddess's Home — Now Worn.

Every autumn, Kolkata performs its greatest transformation. Bamboo rises into pandals. The Ambassador taxi and the hand-pulled rickshaw ferry the city's daughters home. And through a thakur-dalan arch somewhere in the para, Maa arrives in vermilion.

This saree carries that entire arrival on its pallu: the pandal gate with Maa Durga glowing in red, the colonial facade with its shuttered windows, the yellow-era Ambassador, the tana rickshaw mid-pull, a dhaki lost in his beat. Along the border, alpona-inspired motifs in red and black run the full length — the same folk marks Bengali women have drawn on thresholds for generations, welcoming the goddess home. Scattered alta-dot clusters carry the rhythm across the body of the saree.

This is a printed saree — high-definition digital printing on pure handloom khadi cotton, reproducing every hand-drawn line of the illustration with precision and permanence. The art stays sharp. The drape stays effortless.

It is a saree for the woman who doesn't just visit Pujo. She carries it with her.

    Style Tip

A black blouse with silver oxidised jewellery turns the red-black print into a statement — exactly how it's styled in our shoot. And if he's wearing our matching Kolkata Pujo Panjabi, the two of you become the para's best-dressed story this Ashtami.

    They'll ask. Tell them.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is printed on this saree?
A hand-drawn Kolkata street scene across the pallu — a Durga Puja pandal arch with Maa Durga in red, the iconic Ambassador taxi, a hand-pulled rickshaw, a colonial-era building, and a dhaki — with an alpona-motif border in red and black running the full length.
Is this a handwoven or printed design?
The saree is pure handloom khadi cotton; the artwork is a high-definition digital print using OEKO-TEX certified, skin-safe inks — fade-proof and wash-stable.
    Is a blouse piece included?
No, a blouse piece is not included. A plain black or red blouse pairs beautifully with the red-black print.
Is there a matching men's outfit?
Yes — the Kolkata Pujo Panjabi carries the same street-scene print, making this a perfect couple look for pandal-hopping.
How do I wash and care for it?
Gentle hand wash or machine wash cold with mild detergent. Do not bleach. Dry in shade. Iron on medium heat on the reverse side; avoid ironing directly over the printed areas.
    What are the saree's dimensions?
Standard drape length of approximately 5.5 metres with running border artwork; free-size, suits all draping styles.
    What is the return/exchange policy?
