    Description

    Caret Down

Ten Hands. One Lotus. And the Demon Beneath Her Feet.

Every Bengali autumn has a moment when the dhak stops, the conch sounds, and the priest's voice names her: Mahishasurmardini — she who slays the buffalo demon. This panjabi carries that moment on the chest.

Drawn in the bold-line, flat-colour idiom of Bengal's folk art tradition — the visual language of the Kalighat pat painters and Jamini Roy — Maa Durga stands on a lotus, trishul raised, gaze steady, in red and ochre. Mahishasura lies subdued beneath her. Her ten hands rise around her, each holding a divine weapon — the dashabhuja rendered as a procession, not a crowd.

The rest stays quiet on purpose. Crisp white cotton, a straight cut, a traditional band neckline — so the Goddess does the talking.

This is a printed panjabi — high-definition digital printing on pure cotton, reproducing every hand-drawn line with precision and permanence. The art stays sharp. The fabric stays breathable through a full day of pandal-hopping.

It is a panjabi for Ashtami morning anjali, for the sandhi puja lamps at dusk, for the man who wants to arrive at the pandal already carrying the story.

    They'll ask. Tell them.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Who is Mahishasurmardini?
Durga's name in her demon-slaying form: Mahisha (buffalo) + asura (demon) + mardini (she who crushes). The print shows the climax of the Devi Mahatmya — the Goddess on a lotus, trishul in hand, Mahishasura defeated beneath her.
Is the print hand-painted or embroidered?
Neither. It's a high-definition digital print of hand-drawn folk artwork on pure cotton, so the lines stay crisp wash after wash.
    What's the fit like?
Straight-cut regular fit with a traditional band collar. True to size; if you're between sizes, check the chest measurements on our size chart.
What should I wear it with?
A white dhuti for the full Pujo look, or straight cotton pyjamas for pandal-hopping. Our matching Mahishasurmardini saree uses the same artwork if you're dressing as a pair.
How do I wash and iron it?
Machine wash cold, inside out. Do not bleach. Tumble dry low or line dry in shade. Iron inside out only — never directly on the print.
Will the print fade or crack?
No. Follow the wash care above and the high-definition print holds its colour and texture through regular wear.
Can I return or exchange it?
Returns and exchanges are accepted strictly within 3 days of delivery, provided the panjabi is unworn and unwashed with tags intact.
