Ten Hands. One Lotus. And the Demon Beneath Her Feet.
There is a moment in every Bengali autumn when the dhak stops, the conch sounds, and a priest's voice cuts through the smoke: Mahishasurmardini — she who slays the buffalo demon. This saree carries that moment onto its pallu.
Drawn in the bold-line, flat-colour idiom of Bengal's folk art tradition — the same visual language that shaped Jamini Roy and the Kalighat pat painters — Maa Durga stands on a lotus, trishul raised, gaze steady, in red and ochre. Mahishasura, green-faced and horned, lies subdued beneath her. Along the red diagonal of the pallu, her ten hands rise one by one, each holding a divine weapon — the dashabhuja rendered as a procession rather than a crowd.
The body of the saree stays quiet so the pallu can speak: scattered alpona swirls and floral marks in vermilion, the same shapes Bengali women have drawn on courtyard floors for generations. A kalka-motif border runs the full length, finished with a handmade tassel edge.
White and red. The oldest Pujo palette there is — the laal paar sada shari, reimagined with the Goddess herself on it.
This is a printed saree — high-definition digital printing on pure handloom khadi cotton, reproducing every hand-drawn line with precision and permanence. The art stays sharp. The drape stays effortless.
It is a saree for Ashtami morning anjali, for the sandhi puja lamps at dusk, for the woman who wants to arrive at the pandal already carrying the story.

A plain red blouse and a gold choker complete the classic laal paar look — exactly how it's styled in our shoot. Pair it with our matching Durga Puja panjabi for him, and the two of you walk into the pandal as a matched frame.
