    Description

    Caret Down

On 18th August 1945, Subhas Chandra Bose vanished — and eight decades later, India still hasn't agreed on what happened.

Netaji led the Indian National Army in the final push against British rule, rallying soldiers and civilians alike under cries of "Jai Hind" and "Tum Mujhe Khoon Do, Main Tumhe Azadi Dunga." Official accounts say he died in a plane crash in Taihoku (Taipei) days after Japan's surrender. But three separate government inquiries — Shah Nawaz, Khosla, and finally the Mukherjee Commission in 2005 — never fully agreed on the facts, and the Mukherjee Commission explicitly rejected the crash theory. No confirmed remains, no closure. Just Bengal's most enduring historical question.

    Why wear it

This isn't a portrait of a settled hero — it's a portrait of an open question. The print holds Netaji's unmistakable profile fading into uncertainty, a visual echo of a story that was never allowed to end cleanly. Wear it for a leader who refused to wait for permission, and for a mystery that refuses to be closed.

    The piece
